Welcome to WWW Wednesday! My favorite meme was last hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and has found a new home with Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. Don’t forget to check all the other participants. It is the #1 way I keep my TBR overflowing!
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
WHAT AM I CURRENTLY READING?
I am still really enjoying doing a chapter by chapter read through with a few blogger friends of Burnout, The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle. Every single chapter has one (if not dozens) of eye opening a-ha moments.
I am also approximately 60% of the way into The Zookeeper’s Wife. This has been an excellent audiobook and I always forget how much of the terror of Nazi Germany existed before the concentration camps. I am in awe of this family and their efforts to save both people and animals through the brutality of occupation.
I picked up a bunch of graphic novels this weekend and the only one still remaining on my “currently reading” list is I Hate Fairyland, Volume One. Oh.My.Goodness. This book is such a mood and I am loving every page.
WHAT DID I RECENTLY FINISH READING?
I am finally clearing my backlog of Netgalley books! I finished Scot Under the Covers and put up a full review here. The second in this historical romance series from New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Enoch is sure to make you feel Scot under the collar. A strong hero, a smart heroine, and a truly despicable villain make this regency romance a true delight!
I also finished How to Outline My Novel and Snoopy, First Beagle on the Moon! I need to write reviews for them both but I have to say, if you are writing a YA book, How to Outline My Novel had a ton of tips for organizing your novel and accompanying examples from popular YA books. I hope to have full reviews up soon!
I also finished The Philosopher’s Flight by Tom Miller. This historical science fiction book had me absolutely mesmerized and I just needed a few days to let my thoughts simmer before I write a review.
I also gathered up the strength to head to the book store and apparently when I’m tired I cannot resist graphic novels. I bought and immediately read Best Friends, Fake Blood, and The Okay Witch. I also couldn’t resist Rabbit Princess – look at that cover! The book was amazing. Amazing. All in all it was a perfect pile of purchases.
WHAT WILL I READ NEXT?
New plan! I want to finish a Netgalley ARC, Hearing Happiness but I am also going to start with my most recently purchased books because they are shiny and new and I want to read them all now!
Plus One is contemporary romance where the protagonist designs her perfect mate. The Mystery of Black Hollow Lane is a middle grade scary book and, honestly, they are my favorite kind of spooky books to read. Finally, I couldn’t resist Jane Yolen and Adam Stemple’s Last Tsar’s Dragons because Jane Yolen is a freaking treasure.
Also: if you are just getting over a horrible sickness and you muster u the courage to walk to a bookstore just know, you will have no remaining energy for self control. I would say I feel bad but I don’t AT ALL.
Tell me, please!
What is on your WWW?
Burnout sounds so interesting, might need to add that to my TBR 🙂

Burnout is SO good. I’m being annoying about quoting it all the time. I can’t wait to see what you are reading!

That cover for I Hate Fairyland just speaks to me. I love it! It’s a little gory for me, but the idea seems really neat.
How to Outline My Novel sounds interesting! Goodness knows I need help with that. I’ve enjoyed K.M. Weiland’s book and workbook on outlining, though.
Ooh, the Mystery of Black Hollow Lane looks so good! Hope you enjoy.

I’m not a fan of gory things but for some reason I Hate Fairyland is more comic-book silly violent. Not, “ewwww”, more like “snicker, hah, blood.”

I keep hearing so many good things about I Hate Fairyland. I hate buying graphic novels though because the price to time spent reading ratio annoys me. Might have to see if its in at the library.
I’m impressed with how many books you’ve read recently!
I’m also trying to clear my Netgalley backlog and I’m making slow progress.
I hope you have a good reading week, and a good week in general!

I used to get all of my graphic novels from the library but now that I have moved my local library doesn’t keep their graphic novels in good condition (at all). I have a group of friends that all read graphic novels so I distribute the price across all the reads. Otherwise – I totally agree!

I’ve heard good things about The Zookeeper’s Wife. Burnout might be a good one to read, too. Enjoy your books, and here’s MY WWW POST

I always love the covers of graphic novels ❤️. Last Tsar’s Dragon looks very intriguing. I will be curious to see what you think of it.

The Zookeeper’s Wife is on my nightstand – I try to space out my books around the concentration camps because they can be so tough to read – but I think it’s time! My daughter loves graphic novels – two of the ones you’ve read are floating around here too!

I am almost finished with it and while the book does include references to the concentration camps, most of it is how the Polish underground worked and how people lived day to day in such difficult times. I would love to know your thoughts if you get chance!

A friend of mine has a few volumes of I Hate Fairyland and always raved about it, but I never took them up on checking it out. I’m glad to hear you like it too. I really need to read it. Have a great week!

I just finished it this morning and I have to say – it was such a different perspective of how the War affected people. I am just in awe.
