It is so easy in the middle of all of this to forget which day of the week it is. Everyday here feels the same. Thankfully, I just realized that it is Wednesday mid-morning. Time for my favorite meme.
WWW Wednesday was last hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and has found a new home with Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below about how your reading is going this week and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. Don’t forget to check all the other participants. It is the #1 way I keep my TBR overflowing!
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
WHAT AM I CURRENTLY READING?
I am nearly 60% of the way through Emma and, while I am really enjoying it, honestly there are whole sections that feel repeated. Thank goodness Mr. Elston’s wife has finally arrived to liven things up!
Tap is my NonFiction pick this week and, I’m afraid, this one hasn’t gotten much attention. Perhaps today I will finally sit down and get farther than the introduction.
Finally, I have been reading And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie on my kindle. I’m pretty excited for all these terrible people to die already.
WHAT DID I RECENTLY FINISH READING?
This week I finished To Be Honest by Maggie Ann Martin which was an enjoyable contemporary romance but nothing that thrilled me completely. I just absolutely hated her Mom and I felt like I didn’t get enough closure on that one.
The Matchmaker’s List by Sonya Lalli gets my March away for the book that made me the maddest. This is not a romantic comedy (as advertised) but instead a book about culture and tradition. I would have loved that except the main character pretends to be Gay to avoid matchmaking and the length and breadth of this subterfuge made me irate.
Finally, I finished A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab. Her books are well recognized as slow burning and this one did the same. She lays an intricate platform to build onto and I really enjoyed it! I am waiting for the second in the series to arrive from the digital library.
WHAT WILL I READ NEXT?
For once, I know exactly what I will read next because it is April and that means MAGICAL READATHON! I am trying to qualify as a potioneer and my whole post can be found here. Of my stack of books I think I will start with the shortest first because it is on Canada. I was scheduled to travel to Toronto next week and will have to be happy to just read about my country crush.
Tell me, please!
What’s on your WWW?
Enjoy your reading!
I just started reading House of earth and blood!

I absolutely love And Then There Were None! It was my first Agatha Christie and still my favorite. Your excitement for it made me laugh. 🙂 Enjoy! Are you getting annoyed by any of the characters in Emma yet? She definitely could write interesting characters. Have a great week! I will admit that if I hadn’t seen the fabulous new cinematic version of Emma I might well and truly hate her Dad but I keep picturing Bill Nighy (who I adore). Mrs. Easton is a real pooper but she has livened the place up!

Ooh, do I feel you on the mother in To Be Honest. Ugh.
I haven’t read ADSOM yet! But it’s fun to see I’m not the only one diving in “late”, haha.
Happy reading!

That mother! I wanted THREE chapters on groveling and how she learned to be healthy again. It was, like, two paragraphs. I’m so glad I’m not alone! Loved Savvy though. I cannot imagine being that self possessing at 17.

I love Emma, not my favourite Austen but still excellent. Here is my WWW Wednesday https://ladybookdragon.com/2020/04/01/www-wednesday-1-04-2020/

I probably wouldn’t read Austen at all were it not for the wonderful movies that make me finally understand the long and slow smoulder.

I had a big sister who insisted I start very young with classics I read Sense and Sensibility when I was 9! Have read it many times over as well as Pride and Prejudice and each time I read them I understand more. Think it must be to do with getting older. I’m desperate to see the latest Emma film.

Guess what?? I got to the end of my Kindle edition and the letter wasn’t included! Thankfully, I complained about it to a friend who had the physical copy and I finally got to find out who masterminded the whole thing! SO GOOD.
