WWW Wednesday: September 9, 2020

WWW Wednesday is the post I look forward to every week! Thanks, as always to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words and this wonderful WWW post to keep me going. If you want to join me, just answer the three questions below about how your reading is going this week and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to admire. Don’t forget to check all the other participants. It is the #1 way I keep my TBR overflowing!

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

WHAT AM I CURRENTLY READING?

I’ve added To Kill a Mockingbird to my currently reading list. I’m only about 30% of the way into it and I can finally sense the rising action. I am still working my way through The Diary of Anne Frank but the great reading love of my week has to be David Copperfield. I am decently obsessed with David, his story, and the cast of characters weaving together the tapestry of his life.

I also added a new audiobook this week – I finally got my hands on a copy of Daisy Jones and the Six. I am about an hour in and it is just as good as everyone promised!

WHAT DID I RECENTLY FINISH READING?

This week I finished Code Talker by Chester Nez. This is a memoir by one of the original Navajo code talkers. I cannot stop thinking about all the men who came together to use their language (that they were forbidden to speak at boarding school!) to create a code. Code Talker and The Power of Habit will both be up for review on Friday for my NonFiction Friday post. The Power of Habit by Carles Duhigg has answered so many questioned I had about why we form the habits we do and the best ways to make and break a habit.

I also finished Trixie and Katya’s Guide to Modern Womanhood. I have the review here for anyone interested but here is the short and the sweet: gorgeous photos, quick read, layers of fun.

WHAT WILL I READ NEXT?

A black and white illustration of a teenage girl in a historic outfit riding a bike with a black cat.

I absolutely want to make sure and start reading this Enola Holmes mystery next. I have quite a few books on may September reading plan (I made a plan!) but this one has me very excited. There is a new Netflix series staring Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill and Sam Claflin that debuts on the 23rd of this month based on these books and I want to be ready!

Tell me, please! What’s on your WWW?

  1. I’m happy to see you’re enjoying David Copperfield. I have such a weird relationship with that book, because I loved reading it too, but I was reading it as part of a syllabus. Part way through the semester, with reading so heavy, my professor let us skip some chapters, which I took advantage of just to lighten the reading load. To this day I feel like I’ve read it, yet I haven’t technically. It’s quite the conundrum.

    Have a great week!

    1. Oh, the dredded ethics of whether we have “finished” a book or not…. I am not a fan. This book is well over 800 pages and I am loving probably because no one is making me read it. Yahoo! If I were being forced through this whole thing…..I don’t know if I would feel the same about David. I can’t wait to see what you have been up to this week!
