WWW Wednesday: December 2, 2020

WWW Wednesday is the post I look forward to every week! Thanks, as always to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words and this wonderful WWW post to keep me going. If you want to join me, just answer the three questions below about how your reading is going this week and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to admire. Don’t forget to check all the other participants. It is the #1 way I keep my TBR overflowing!

The Three W’s Are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

WHAT AM I CURRENTLY READING?

I am still working through the fantastic D-Day Girls by Sarah Rose. This is only taking longer than usual because I lost track of it for a bit. The Christmas tree went up and the organization fell apart! I am so happy to continue reading about all the women spies who worked hard to save people during WWII.

I am also finishing up A Woman of No Importance by Sonia Purnell. I was listening to this as an audiobook and the library needed it back (the nerve!) so I am finishing it as a physical copy. I am constantly floored by the work of Virginia Hall behind enemy lines.

I borrowed Well Met by Jen DeLuca from the library. Since Believathon and NonFiction November are over I can read books other than middle grade and nonfiction without guilt. I have seen this book everywhere so I was happy to find an e-book copy from the library.

Finally, I started listening to Furthermore by Tahareh Mari as my audiobook read and it is amazing. I am only about 30% into the story and already looking for excuses to read more.

WHAT DID I RECENTLY FINISH READING?

Okay, first of all, this is two weeks worth of reading since I lost track of my days last week with Thanksgiving. I finished Animal Farm as an audiobook. I can’t believe that this book is commonly taught in middle school around here. It is sad and the animals really brought the utopia / dystopia theme to a whole new level.

I also finished No Offense by Meg Cabot. This was a super cute and light romance book that I downloaded during a long night of insomnia. I haven’t had a chance to review it yet but the sweet by-the-book Police Officer and the librarian falling in love was delightful.

Go With The Flow was a new-to-me graphic novel about normalizing periods. It was fantastic. If I were in charge I would swap this book in and Animal Farm out for required reading. My full review is here.

I finished the fourth book in the Enola Holmes series, The Case of the Peculiar Pink Fan by Nancy Springer. This book is just as excellent as all the others in the series and I hope to do a full review of the series when I finish.

I inhailed two amazing middle grade books this week. Greetings from Witness Protection by Jake Burt and A Place at the Table by Saadia Faruqi and Laura Shovan. You can click on the titles for my full review but these are both five star reads in my book!

WHAT WILL I READ NEXT?

I have two bookclubs coming up soon. For one I need to read Chilling Effect. I am so excited to crack into this book – look at the mini blurb, “Kidnappers, Alien emperors, physic cats, and she’s out of coffee.” I cannot wait.

For my other bookclub I get to read The Three Muskateers. I have read The Count of Monte Cristo a few times and The Black Count so I am excited to have some more Dumas in my day.

Participating in Believathon and NonFiction November has really piled my TBR stacks full. I have The Book of Awesome and 1000+ Things Happy and Successful People Do Differently and They Called Us Enemy waiting for me at my local library. It is shaping up to be a wonderful first week of December.

Tell me, please! What’s on your WWW?
