This is my favorite week of the year! The time between Christmas and New Years is when I put all of my extra mental energy into planning my goals for the New Year. As part of that push, I pulled out all of the books that I have from a variety of places to get my reading organized only to realize that I probably need an intervention.
Then I stumbled across Stacking My Shelves on The Secret Library Book Blog site and I was intrigued – this looked like a great way to keep track of my shelves. But….wait, maybe it would be a great way to check on my collection but what I really need is something that organizes my week. I need to unstack my shelves and with zero shade towards this meme, I just need something to set out my reading intentions of what’s coming in and out of my home every week.
For SundayStack I am going to pile up the books I have across all mediums and from every source to keep track of where I am reading as much as what I am reading. I used to do something very similar in my bullet journal but, hopefully, putting it out into the world will make me more accountable to these beautiful books.
PHYSICAL BOOKS FROM THE LIBRARY
I know, I know, I look insane. In my defense, Chicago keeps making sounds like they are going to close non-essential buildings which means I wouldn’t be able to get physical books for a while. It’s a stockpile.
E-BOOKS FROM THE LIBRARY
I have Jane in Love by Rachel Givney from the library and I have lost (in my home no less!) my copy of D-Day Girls by Sarah Rose. I am so close to finishing it so I borrowed a copy from the library.
AUDIOBOOKS FROM THE LIBRARY

I love to start my New Year off with a book about making the most of life. I banned the word “busy” a few years ago and found that I never felt that way anymore but I would still love to get more done in less time.
PHYSICAL BOOKS
Pipsqueak by Brian M. Wiprud was leant to me by a neighbor at least a month ago and I want to put it to the top of my pile to finish so I don’t look like I’m stealing it forever. Don’t you hate people that keep books they borrowed?
The Professor and the Madman is a book I have been reading for weeks and I am mere pages from finishing!
ARC BOOKS
There they are! All my different stacks. I am hoping that next week, instead of adding more books, I have managed to get these under control. I certainly feel more organized!
Tell me, please! How do you keep your stacks organized?
Ooh I like the look of the history of sweets!

Ooh, lots of interesting nonfiction on your list this week! I’ve enjoyed several of Simon Winchester’s books, but somehow have still not gotten to The Professor and the Madman, even though it’s probably the one I’ve heard the most about. I’ll be interested to hear how you like it 🙂
