Thanks, as always, to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words for this meme that keeps me focused on my current piles instead of looking at the 500 things I have on my Goodreads TBR.

If you want to join in the fun, just answer the three questions below about how your reading is going this week and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to admire. Don’t forgt to check all the other participants. It is the #1 way I keep my TBR overflowing!

WHAT AM I CURRENTLY READING?

This is my last week of Frighteningly Good Reads and I have some great ones. I am nearly finished with volume 1 of Monstress and this fantasy graphic novel is creepy. The world building is intense!

I am reading the second Miss Fortune mysteries on my kindle. This is the perfect night reading for me, a nice murder mystery. Why do I consider it frightening? It is set in Louisiana. As much as I want to visit New Orleans some time, the thought of that oppressive heat right now just terrifies me. Laugh if you want by I need true Fall weather!

I am really enjoying Poe for Your Problems. The little historical nuggets of Poe’s life are really surprising to me and the bits the author turns into self help are cracking me up. This book is on track to be finished by the end of the month.

Finally, I am listening to The Taking of Jake Livingston as an audiobook. This book is scaring the pants off of me and shaving whole minutes off my walking pace. I am only 20% in but the foreshadowing and creepiness are tangible.

WHAT DID I RECENTLY FINISH READING?

I had such a big reading weekend because it was Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon! Every readathon I get a little bit better as using my time wisely and this one was stacked with middle grade wonders.

Camp Murderface was my most surprising read. I thought it was be fine, a good middle grade bit of fun. It was amazing! This book surprised me in so many ways and I cannot wait to get my hands on the second book.

I finished Death Troopers and actually managed to post a review of this book. If you need a scary audiobook to keep you company this week, look no further.

I also read Willowdeen, The Peculiar Incident on Shady Street, and Bridge of Souls all this weekend. I have not caught up on my reviews yet but this was an excellent bunch of books. Not a dud in the bunch.

Louisiana Longshot is the first in the Miss Fortune Series of mysteries and it is excellent. If you enjoyed Janet Evanovich’s books, my bet is you will love these too. Set in Sinful, Louisiana and stuffed to the brim with naughty old woman, sigh, it is just too cute.

WHAT WILL I READ NEXT?

I have no idea which book specifically but it will certainly be scary or spooky. If you are feeling the Fall my fall themed book tag is still up. Or, if you are finally in the mood for Halloween, join me in reading Frighteningly Good Reads.

Tell me, please! What’s on your WWW?
