If you want to join in the fun, just answer the three questions below about how your reading is going this week and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to admire. Don’t forgt to check all the other participants. It is the #1 way I keep my TBR overflowing!
WHAT AM I CURRENTLY READING?
It’s NonFiction November! If you have never participated before it is one of my favorite reading related things of the year. I am starting my NonFiction reading with Think Like a Monk by Jay Shetty as an audiobook and Focus the Hidden Driver of Excellence by Daniel Goleman. I am also (very happily) reading Second First Impressions by Sally Thorne on my Kindle at night.
WHAT DID I RECENTLY FINISH READING?
I had another great week of reading. It is shocking how much you can read if you don’t watch television at night and you have no social life.
I wrapped up my Frighteningly Good Reads this weekend. I cannot remember the last time I had such a successful FGR. I finished up this weekend with the second in the Miss Fortune mystery series. These books are an absolute delight!
I also listened to The Taking of Jake Livingston and, while it is well written and full of suspense, it was not for me. There were one too many upsetting themes in this book and I am not talking about ghosts and ghouls.
Monstress was an unusual graphic novel for me but I loved it. It was gory and gross and perfect for a Halloween weekend read.
I also finished Poe For Your Problems. You all…..I am ashamed to admit that up until I read this book I truly though Edgar was British. The man being from Virginia was a shock to me. The book is part biography and part hilarious self help. I enjoyed it so much and highly recommend it. I just need to find the time to write that review!
I am also deep into reading my middle grade books for the Cybils. So far I have read two stunning stories, The Elephant in the Room, and The Flight of the Puffin. These books were perfection. Oh my goodness. If all the books are this good making a short list is going to be impossible.
WHAT WILL I READ NEXT?\
So many NonFiction books to chose from! I will definitely start The Gift of Fear next because it is my book club’s pick. But, I really want to jump into How to be Lovely!
Tell me, please! What’s on your WWW?
