It’s that time again! Many thanks to Sam at Taking on a World of Words for hosting the WWW Wednesday and helping all of us organize, prioritize, and share our reading. Let’s get right to the big questions of the day! (in chronological order because I’m just like that)
What did I just finish reading?
El Deafo, Ms. Marvel – No Normal, and Nimona were all for my Sunday Morning Comics series and they were quick and fun. A delightful start to my week! I finished Every Day by David Levihthan. I also wrapped up Wonder Woman Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo and I loved it. You can check out my rave review here. I had to give 1066 back to my library and it, sadly, went back on my to-be-read list. Ah well!
What am I reading now?
I am still working on The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley and Fahrenheit 451. I am more than halfway through Fahrenheit but I am only a few chapters into The Watchmaker.
What will I read next?
The only books I know for certain I am putting into my immediate to-read pile is The Book of Joy by the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu and Iron Gold by Pierce Brown. The Book of Joy has been on my physical TBR shelf for a while and I am excited to finally read it. And, I preordered Iron Gold last year to prethwart my 2018 book buying ban because I was just that excited to read it. Also, a bit devious because I basically broke my book buying ban before it began. But, I think of it like eating three donuts the night before you start working out. It happens.
So, what’s on your WWW list? Have you read any of the books on my list?
Please, leave a link or names in the comments and make sure and check out all of the other WWW lists on Sam’s site!
Wonder woman is on my tbr

I can’t wait to hear what you thought! I went into it with a very “meh” attitude so I hope I haven’t hyped it too much for you.

I watched the movie but someone said book is different, so why not check it 🙂

I keep seeing this new Red Rising book pop up, but I know nothing about the series. I may have to give it a look. Happy reading!

I do not enjoy end of the world books or dystopian futures (which Red Rising is) and I really love this series. It takes a big chunk at the beginning to get going because it is a lot of set up but it is worth it. Let me know if you check it out what you think!

Wow, how many have you just finished!! I have the Watchmaker book but never got around to reading it. Can’t wait to read your review.

Every book I finish is just more proof that I haven’t been studying 🙂

Farenheit 451 really rocked me when I read it for school. I wonder if it would have the same impact on the older, more jaded me.

So far, I am totally horrified by the concept of a world like that. But, I think a younger me would have found it less terrifying because of the huge addiction some have to reality TV and social media. I cannot wait to see how it ends!

The Watchmaker caught my eye. I also wonder what I would think of Fahrenheit 451 now? Enjoy your reading, and thanks for visiting my blog.

I have never read it before! I cannot imagine how silly it would have seemed to high school me. Now, it is terrifying.

My list completely different from yours. There are some good paranormals on it.
Enjoy your books.

I love The Book Of Joy and am glad to see people reading it. I only know some of the others, but these lists always show me books that catch my interest–thanks!

Beyond my ability to stay more organized oogling people’s lists is my favorite reason to participate in WWW! I am so glad that you loved Book of Joy!

I get frustrated though because somehow wordpress does not show follow buttons on anyone’s sites for me now, so it is rare that I can follow new people. Sometimes if I am logged out it will let me follow folks that have the email signup thing, but never if I am logged in. They can’t fix it somehow–but at least I can see the comments and go to the sites if I remember which ones interest me–

That is so odd! (and annoying). Sometimes I can only see the follow option when I am at the top of the website. But, at least I can still see it!

I am unsure what kind of security thing or cookies thing it might be, but at least i can subscribe to the ones trhat show email signups if I close all windows, open a new o ne, and sign up that way. Then I can come here and change the notifications. It seems like I have no chance at the blogs that are not paid wordpress though–nothing at wordpress.com.

Love your current reading choices. I’ve not read either but should definitely put Farenheit 451 on the TBR list 🙂

Thanks! I’m often embarrassed at the number of classics I haven’t enjoyed so I am trying to put them into my list gradually.

Sadly, I read Every Day too close to the hype and so my expectations were sky high which is always impossible to meet. I still cannot wait to see the movie. But, I really hope you enjoy Wonder Woman!

I read it years ago so I haven’t been influenced with the hype. It sucks when the hype ruins the enjoyment of the book.

I completely agree!! I probably would have really enjoyed it more if I had heard nothing.

I would never even attempt a book buying ban so it saves me having to find ways around it 😉
I actually bought Wonder Woman when it first came out and it has been sitting on my shelf unread ever since. I just never seem to find the time to read it even though Bardugo is one of my all time fave authors.
I’m really looking forward to reading Iron Gold soon too. I’m very curious to find out how much is new and how much we’ll get to find out about the characters from Red rising

The cover of Wonder Woman also is worth purchasing. Do you have the others is the collection or just Bardugos? I’m only banning buying until I clear my physical TBR and then I’m flying to my local bookstore. Cannot wait to hear what you think of Iron Gold!

Fahrenheit 451 is one of my all-time favourite books so I hope you enjoy it. It’s not a genre I read much of but the books make me adore it. 🙂
