WWW Wednesday was last hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and has found a new home with Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below about how your reading is going this week and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. Don’t forget to check all the other participants. It is the #1 way I keep my TBR overflowing!
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
WHAT AM I CURRENTLY READING?
The massive pile continues but, somehow, I feel less frantic this week. I continue reading Tap and A History of the World in a 100 Objects slowly but surely and they are still great nonfiction reads to fill in the multiple cracks of my day.
I am more than half way through The Princess Bride and still thoroughly enjoying reading a few pages each night before bed. It has been such a balm and helps me avoid social media impulses directly after eating.
One of my new book club picks is The Humans by Matt Haig. I was hoping to get a copy from my local library but they only had his other works. I was immediately drawn to his Notes on a Nervous Planet (for obvious reasons) and borrowed it. The two works compliment each other wonderfully.
Finally, after finding an absolutely delightful middle grade books, I picked up Greenglass House by Kate Milford. I *think* I started this book a year ago and I am excited to get back into the adventure.
WHAT DID I RECENTLY FINISH READING?
I finished listening to Mockingjay and I still have a lot of unresolved thoughts about Katniss’ Mother. This series was even better the second time and I finally took the opportunity to watch the second part of the Mockingjay movie.
I also finished Astrophysics for People in a Hurry by Neil DeGrasse Tyson. This book left me reeling by the sheer amount of information that I didn’t know but sparked so much joy and curiosity. At a short four hours I learned more than I did in Astronomy 101 in college but the one thing I know for sure is that there is just so much I don’t know. Also, we should all be so lucky to love what we do as much as Tyson does. His devotion to his area of science is inspiring.
Another of my book clubs wanted to read The Polar Explorers Club by Alex Bell. I didn’t want to, honestly. I was being such a baby about the whole thing. Then I cracked into it and I couldn’t put it down! After that I read one middle grade book after the other and I am loving each and every one of them.
In short succession I tore through The Mystery of Black Hallow Lane, The Willoughbys, and Al Capone Does My Shirts. Each and every one of them was excellent! I seriously need to catch up on my reviews…eek.
WHAT WILL I READ NEXT?
If my luck holds, more middle grade books!
Tell me, please!
What’s on your WWW?
Oh, not only the tbr in general is bad for my tbr – man, there are so many books here in your post I want to take a closer look at.
Greenglass House, Notes on a nervous planet, Al Capone does my shirts, The Mystery of Black Hollow Lane and The Willoghbys sound and look incredible!

I am always amazed by your currently reading list. Seems so overwhelming, even though I always have more than one book going at a time as well. You read a lot this week though, so that is awesome! Astrophysics gave me a bit of a headache, though I learned a lot. Wish he had covered more about black holes. I had a lot of not great feelings about the final book of the Hunger Games trilogy. Have a good week of reading! My WWW: https://greatmorrisonmigration.wordpress.com/2020/04/29/www-wednesdays-april-29-2020/

I thought of you when I read Astrophysics! And, my currently reading is looks like pure insanity. Being home all the time though I have turned into an erratic person and I feel like I never get to finish anything so I may as well have a thousand things going at the same time.

Astronomy 101 brings back such nightmare associations from college!! I really love what I’ve seen of Tyson though, he is so charming and in love with his work,w which really is wonderful.

Astronomy 101 was terrible for me as well! I wanted so badly to know all the star names etc and everything was so confusion and…ugh. I listening to this as an audiobook and Tyson is, indeed, incredibly accessible and charming.

I remember I picked it as one of my science requirements because I was like they had it in Harry Potter, how bad could it be? And the answer was SO F’ING BAD and the most confusing. I’m glad his is accessible though. I’m going to have to attempt it!

“What is the density of the 4th largest moon of Jupiter” is an actual question on one of my quizzes. NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. So glad to find a kindred spirit!

Omg I hated when it was that rote memorization stuff too. That course was such a torturous time in my education/life. I’m sorry you went through it too but glad to find a kindred spirit too!
