I read article after article in 2020 about people’s reading struggle. I myself had not one, but two reading slumps! The only thing that pulled me out was allowing myself to read like I wanted to in that moment. Some people call this mood reading, others just reading. When I was trying to decide my challenges for 2021 I wanted to design my reading year around the idea of joy. I searched high and low but I couldn’t find anything that encouraged us to read based on our mood and so I decided to create one.

This year I want to challenge myself to re-create the feeling of joy I always have when I head into a library or bookstore. That moment when you see the rows and rows of books and you just follow your desire in that moment. But, how to both follow my mood and keep track of my reading? A challenge!
The Rules
This challenge runs from January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2021.
The book can be in any format, printed any year, and re-reads count.
The book can be from your TBR, from another challenge, it doesn’t matter. You only have to read it because the mood moves you and not because a review is due, a publication date is looming, you said you would or the plethora of other ways we make up to turn reading from a joy into a chore.
Each book only counts once. Unless you re-read it. Then it counts twice.

Well dang and poop. Good thing one of my New Years resolutions is to learn a new WordPress skill every month. Thank you for trying! I’ll attempt to fix it before tomorrow. Lord lord…..
