Blogmas: December 3rd

CHRISTMAS MUSIC

It’s the Hap-Happiest time of the year! Or, if you were me today, its the point in winter here in Chicago where you need to wear your heaviest coats and then you bake once inside the stores or on the bus. I find that, once I get hot, I struggle to stay calm. Nothing sets me off faster than a never-ending loop of a single Christmas carol (see the Kelly Clarkson fiasco). The soundtrack of my nightmares is Mele Kalikimaka on repeat. This song was actually played on a loop the Christmas I worked at the short-lived Hawaiian Vintage Chocolate Factory. I made coffee and that song played on….and on.

I like to make my own Christmas playlist every year. I find that this allows me to tune out that one song that stores seem to pick to play again and again. Be warned: this is the most random collection. Each of this songs has a tangible connection to a Christmas memory of mine.
