Thanks, as always, goes to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words for hosting the meme that keeps my TBR under some semblance of control.
If you want to participate in WWW, feel free! The more the merrier (and the bigger my TBR becomes). All you have to do is answer the Three W’s:
- What did you recently finish?
- What are you currently reading?
- And, what do you think you’ll read next?
CURRENTLY READING

I am all the way up to the Tang Dynasty in The Shortest History of China. This book is amazing and I only wish that I had a pronunciation guide for all the names.
I only have about an hour left in the excellent audiobook Never Caught. Whew. This book makes me really despise Martha Washington.
I have also started another TJ Klune book, Under the Whispering Door. I am trying to keep my expectations level since Klune’s other book, The House in the Cerulean Sea was a favorite read last year but it is a struggle.
WHAT DID I RECENTLY FINISH?

Two fantastic books were finished this week! I finally finished Persuasion. Admittedly, it was a struggle. Austen sort of wanders around for 200 pages and then – bam – action! The book is only 220 pages so that is a lot of thinking and pandering to her awful sisters while waiting for Frederick to make his move. This book was more a study of the shades of ridiculous women than a romance but I am glad to shift it, finally, into my finished pile.
I also finished Beth O’Leary’s new book The Road Trip and it was excellent. I love her books. The twists and turns that life brings to people. Sigh. So good.
WHAT WILL I READ NEXT?
No idea at all!
Tell me, please! What’s on your WWW?
The Road Trip sounds like a fun read. And also, I need to start reading TJ Klune, I hear all good things about their books.

Why are there so many Charleses in Persuasion?!? Still, when it was done, I really enjoyed it. It was just tricker for me than Emma and Pride and Prejudice and I think it is totally my fault.

That Klune book took me longer to get into, but it was a really good book.

That makes me feel better because the first 10% has been tricky.

I’m sorry you struggled with Persuasion. It is one of my favourite Austen books. I could imagine learning about Chinese history is fascinating! 🙂

Persuasion is one of those books that made such an impression on me the minute. The minute I finished the last page I wanted to talk to someone about it. I just had a hard time getting into it!
