WWW Wednesday: January 3, 2023

Happy New Year! New Year, new opportunities to read. Thanks, as always, goes to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words for hosting the weekly meme that reminds me that it is okay to have a plan when reading. And the joy I feel when I can report that a book was finished feels even better on a Wednesday.

If you want to participate in WWW, feel free! The more the merrier (and the bigger my TBR becomes). All you have to do is answer the Three W’s:

  • What did you recently finish?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • And, what do you think youโ€™ll read next?

CURRENTLY READING

I think I am somewhere between 40-50% into The Divorce Colony. I am so intrigued! This is a great audiobook that segues off of the history of women’s rights from The Woman They Could Not Silence.

I have been loving the first V.I. Warshowski novel by Sara Paretsky. Somewhere between Christmas and New Years I remembered the excellent 1991 Katherine Turner movie and watched it. I picked up the first book in the series and am delighted to find out that V.I’s fictional apartment is mere blocks from where I live right now.

WHAT DID I RECENTLY FINISH?

I finished the absolute cutie of a mystery, Skeleton Paints a Picture by Leigh Perry. Such a cute story!

And somewhere between 9:00 and 11:00 pm on New Year’s Eve I finished War and Peace. Sigh. I am still processing the experience and waiting to meet with my reading buddy for a synopsis before I publish my thoughts but, if you are pondering reading this book – do it. It was a surprising wonder of a book.

I cannot wait to pick up more Nonfiction! Now that my obligations to the Cybils’ awards are complete, I can clear the deck and read whatever I want!

Tell me, please! What’s on your WWW list?
