WWW Wednesday: October 23, 2019

Well, another week has gone by and I haven’t posted anything to my blog since the last WWW. But, at least this week, I HAVE been reading. Yahoo! Thanks to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words for hosting my favorite meme and to everyone who participates because WWW always brings me back!

What Did I Recently Finish Reading?

One is better than none right? This was a fantastic follow-up to the first book in the series and I was so pleased to see there will be a third! I love that this one is set in Paris and has Cass and her ghost BFF Jacob running through the city from a particularly dangerous spirit. Spooky, full of historical facts and just plan frighteningly fun.

What am I Currently Reading?

For everyone last week that was worried about Frankenstein, I found it! It was…..in a pile on my bedside table. Safe, but buried. I have made really good progress on this beautiful book. I relishing the writing style and the gorgeous imagery it evokes.

I am deeply into Obsidio as well and it is heart thumping! I can hardly wait to get the time to turn the audiobook on again everyday. My home has never been vacuumed so frequently!

Chapter by chapter I am working through The Art and Science of Hand Reading. It is truly fascinating and I am even taking notes. That makes the work slower but I am hopeful that I will retain more information that way.

Here be Monsters is simply delightful. It is the perfect book to read at the end of a long day and the illustrations are a delight. I shouldn’t have been so daunted by the size of the book because, many times, the pages are short blurbs.

What Will I Read Next?

It is the same list as last week. But, I am participating in this Friday’s 24-hour Readathon so I hope that I will make some serious progress on several fronts this weekend.

Tell me, please!

  1. Hahaha, you know you don’t have to vacuum to listen to an audiobook right? If I’m desperate I tend to find an excuse to go for a really long walk, but I hate cleaning. I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying Obsidio so much though. I just got my new audible credit so picked up Gemina and can’t wait to read/listen to it.

I seem to be a book behind you on the Cassidy Blake series too as City of Bones is currently sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be read. I really must make a start on that series, I keep hearing such good things about it.

Also very happy you’re enjoying Frankenstein. I listened to the first half of it on audio but have to confess I gave up once it switched to the monster’s pov. The writing was fine it was just a little on the slow side for me (and I’m not sure the narrator was the best)
